Tribute to My Little Guy
In Loving Memory Bugsy: October, 1998 - December 25, 2011 Bugsy, as he would come to be known, was brought to us on a cold day in the fall of '98. The 16 year old girl who was our neighbor, stood in the doorway sobbing almost uncontrollably as she related her predicament at not being able to keep him because, her dad hated cats. She said he had kicked the little guy out the door and she had no where to take him. Now, I had grown up with pets all my life. We had dogs, cats, chickens, roosters, exotic birds, a few gerbils and mice and having two cats in the house already, I knew they could be quite a handful to care for. So when this little one was presented to us preceded by the question, "can you guys please take him?" I hesitated. But that lasted all of about a few seconds as I heard myself telling her, "Yeah, I'll take him." You see, he couldn't have been more than eight, ten weeks old at the most.
